Horseback Riding is a beautiful and unique way to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. While not having to walk, you can relax and enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Green Valley in its fullest bloom. Visiting the Maras Salt Mines and the ancient Inca Terraces of Moray will also satisfy your curiosity about Inca culture and the past. Additionally, you will have a blast riding your horse with family and friends – an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss while staying in Cusco.

Full Itinerary

We will start our Horseback Riding Tour in the small town of Paucarbamba. You receive your safety equipment and a brief demonstration of basic riding instructions (if you don’t have any experience). From here, we will ride uphill to the high mountains of the Sacred Valley, enjoying panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of Verónica and Chicón. After a 3-hour ride, we will get to the archaeological site of Moray. We will visit the Inca Laboratory Terraces, then continue our ride to the small town of Maras, where we will have our box lunch and a short break. Afterwards, we continue descending to the Maras Salt Mines. We will stay here for a short while, enjoying the great ambience and visiting the various tourist shops. Finally, we will finish our tour in Tarabamba, where our transport service will be waiting to take you back to Ollantaytambo or Urubamba.

Upon request, we can include private transportation to and from Cusco for an additional US$60.00 per person. One-way transport is US$30 for two people.
